Our love for Italy
For us, Italy is much more than a holiday destination. It is a lifestyle - a way of being where enjoying the little things is central. A cappuccino at the bar in the morning, a chat at the piazza, a gelato during a passeggiata. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you just need to stop and see. That's Italy.
Over the years, we have travelled through almost every corner of the country: from Calabria to Umbria, from Lombardy to Puglia, from Tuscany to Sicily. Each region has its charm. But in Le Marche we found it all coming together: rolling landscapes, vast beaches, medieval towns, hospitable people, honest cuisine and an authentic character that still feels pure.
In atmospheric Loro Piceno, we immediately felt at home. Genuine interest and being able to talk Italian made it easy to feel connected. What started as a summer reverie - “what if...” - materialized into an adventure that we started to live.
In daily life we work and live in the Netherlands, we use every holiday, every free moment to build on our dream: Villa Verde. Ricardo works as a consultant in recruitment and Sandra is Store Manager in one of the most beautiful department stores in the Netherlands. Our passion for Italy and the desire to create a place where people can unwind and enjoy themselves give us the energy and motivation to keep developing.
Villa Verde is the result of that dream. A dream that was fuelled by the love for Italy, but also came to life through a lot of planning, trying, failing and reconsidering. Time and again, there was the driving force: the desire to share this special place in Italy. Sharing = caring.

La casa
Villa Verde was built in 1960 by two brothers and was originally home to both their families. When we first saw the house, it was love at first sight. Without hesitation, we decided to take the plunge and embark on the adventure. With that, we became the second owners of this special house.
The villa is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden with century-old trees, olive trees and a vineyard. The 6.5-hectare site offers peace, space and picturesque views in all directions. Thanks to the natural shade from the trees and the many sunny corners, it is great to stay here all year round.
What made this place even more special for us was the heartwarming help of the previous owners. Their commitment, knowledge of the house and genuine desire to make us feel at home here were invaluable. To this day, we can count on this support - a special gift that has made our start here so much nicer.
From the first moment, we felt at ease in this enchanting setting. Villa Verde exudes tranquillity, warmth and love. It is a place we proudly and joyfully call our second home.
Our own flat on the top floor is now complete, as is the guesthouse on the first floor, which we have decorated with care and attention for our guests. In the future, we would like to further develop Villa Verde on the ground floor and let even more people enjoy this unique place in Le Marche.
